About The Artwork

This captivating lithograph represents Salvador Dalí's continued exploration of dreamlike imagery and scientific concepts during his later career. Created in 1975 as part of his "Imaginations and Objects of the Future Portfolio," this work exemplifies the artist's enduring fascination with the intersection of science, technology, and surrealism.
"Melting Space-Time" builds upon Dalí's iconic motif of melting forms—first popularized in his famous "The Persistence of Memory" with its soft watches—here applied to the concept of space-time itself. The composition features Dalí's characteristic dreamlike quality, with fantastical elements merging scientific terminology and surrealist imagery.

This piece reflects Dalí's lifelong interest in scientific discoveries and theories, particularly Einstein's theory of relativity, which revolutionized our understanding of space and time as interconnected dimensions. Through his surrealist lens, Dalí transforms these complex concepts into visually striking imagery that invites viewers to contemplate the nature of reality and existence.

The work comes from the International edition of 250 (from a total edition of 600) and is hand-signed "Dalí" in pencil within the image and numbered by the artist. Its authenticity has been confirmed by Bruce Hochman OS, the leading authority on Salvador Dalí's artwork, and a certificate of authenticity will be included with purchase.

This lithograph has never been framed and remains in excellent condition, offering collectors a pristine example of Dalí's late-period work that continues to captivate with its dreamlike imagery and innovative fusion of art and science.
