About The Artwork

This impressive 15-color screenprint showcases Eddie Martinez's vibrant approach to contemporary printmaking. Created in 2016 in collaboration with Flying Horse Editions at the University of Central Florida, this large-format print demonstrates the technical sophistication and artistic vision that have made Martinez one of today's most sought-after artists.

"After Bay Area, Early 90s" is one of three editions Martinez produced during this significant collaboration. Flying Horse Editions is renowned for its master print program, which partners with established artists to push the boundaries of printmaking techniques. The complexity of a 15-color screenprint speaks to both the workshop's technical expertise and Martinez's ambitious visual language.

At 30 x 38 1/2 inches, this substantial work allows Martinez's energetic compositions and bold color choices to unfold at a compelling scale. His distinctive style—blending abstract expressionism with street art influences—creates dynamic visual tensions between spontaneity and structure, abstraction and suggestion.

Eddie Martinez (b. 1977) has gained international recognition for his paintings, drawings, and prints that bridge various artistic traditions while maintaining a distinctly contemporary sensibility. His work appears in major collections including the Saatchi Collection and the Marciano Art Foundation.
This particular example has never been framed and has been meticulously preserved in climate-controlled fine art storage since its printing. It comes with the original invoice from the publisher, providing excellent provenance.
