Untitled, 2016
This technically complex intaglio print showcases Eddie Martinez's innovative approach to contemporary printmaking. Created in 2016 in collaboration with Flying Horse Editions at the University of Central Florida, this work demonstrates both technical virtuosity and artistic vision.
The print employs multiple specialized techniques, including a two-plate process, 15-color intaglio printing, soft ground, drypoint, and chine collé, all on premium Hahnemule paper. This combination of methods creates rich textures and visual depth that reflect Martinez's characteristic style while exploring the unique possibilities of fine art printmaking.
"Untitled, 2016" is one of three editions Martinez produced during his significant collaboration with Flying Horse Editions, which is renowned for its master print program that partners with established artists to push technical boundaries. The limited edition of only 20 prints speaks to the labor-intensive nature of this complex production.
Eddie Martinez (b. 1977) has gained international recognition for his dynamic paintings, drawings, and prints that bridge abstract expressionism and street art influences. His work appears in prestigious collections including the Saatchi Collection and the Marciano Art Foundation.
